Married: Kunie Kuhns (Born: ~Luxemburg, Germany)
John Werthman married Miss Kunie Kuhns in luxenburg, Germany in 1873. Came to US in 1876 and settled in Old Alleghney PA (Dutch Town). His wife died in 1879 and he was left with 3 small childrenm: Michael, Annie, and Johnnie. He put them in St Mary's Orphan home in Old Alleghney PA until they were 16, the record would still be there.
John and Wife are buried at Mary's Cemetary in Allegany PA

Johnnie was a barber and the last Werthman's saw of him was when they lived in hillville and he visited them. Children

"Was born in Durand Wis on May 7th, 1875 in a three room log house on a farm in Buffalo, CO. Daughter of Elizabeth and John Stringer. Married Frank Darling in 1893 and had one daughter Ruth born Spt. 27,1894. Came to Aplla, PA in 1896. Had word of the death of my husband so I married Micheal Werthman in Vandergrift. As my husband was Catholic I became converted to the Catholic faith also. Had seven children, August, Leo, Anna, John, Cecelia, Florance and Marie. August and Leo were born in Vandergrift and the others in Leechburg PA. Where we had moved in 1901 where Mr. Werthman worked as a shearerman in the Old Amerianc Sheet And Tin Plate Co. We lived in Leechburg for Seventeen years and then moved to Hillville (now west of Leechburg). Lived there for twenty-three years when my husband Michael died on July 13, 1943. I then Married Alex Berger in Durdand Wis on 8-15-1945"
