Nicolas Baker (Born: 1726 ~
Hesse Cassel, Germany)
Married: Christine(a)
Eckhart (Born: 1730)
** Nancy Baker Gault stated that Nicolas was born in Hesse Cassel, Germany while
IGI Records show Nicolas as being born in York Co, PA. The same holds true
for Christina. It is more likely that IGI is wrong and the confusion comes
in with Nicolas's son or grandson.

Owned Fairy Buisness in Hyde Park]
Married: Hannah Cline
(Born: February 6, 1859, Death: November 21, 1933, Buried: grinder Cemetary)
During this time Hyde Park was called Grinder Town. Most of the residence
were Grinder, Baker, and Cline family. Andrew Grinder built the Spring house and
Andrew Baker built a house on the bank. He had a Fairy buisness and it was a perfect location. The farm was a V
shapped piece of land and the kiskiminetas River goes around the point.
The Great Flood was on March 17th 1936. Andrew Baker climbed to the roof of his
house and was determined to stand his ground and not leave his house. As he sat upon his
room other houses were floating by nearly colliding with his. As a large man those who
attempted to rescue Andrew from his roof failed, until Mullit Grinder came --he
was a big man with tattoos on his arms and offered Andrew some food. When Andrew
grabbed for the food Mullit pulled him on the boat. Andrew Bakers house was one of the only houses to
survive the Great Flood because when he built his house he installed iron rods in the foundation.
